I did not work with Wes for long, leaving Westmont shortly after he started, but I do remember how much fun he was to work with. I did get to see him at our bowling tournament and he had not changed. Wes was a good medic and an all - around great guy who will be greatly missed by many.

My brother. My partner in crime for many years. Words can not describe how I'm feeling right now. There is no answer to why this happened to you. There's no way to explain how bad I want to pick up my phone and call you. Words don't justify how much I want to tell you that I appreciated 15 years of friendship. Words can't describe anything right now. I miss you. I loved you. I hope that you are at peace now my brother. Until we meet again one day, and we can once again race around in our cars in style in that typical Wes Peak fashion. Andrew was back from college for winter break, 2004. He, Wes, and I were just sitting around, trying to think of some idea for a short, stupid movie to make. Now keep in mind, Wes was seven to eight years older than us, and had no obligation to spend his evening running around with his younger brother and friend. But when we had a vague concept of what we wanted the movie to be, Wes just ran away with it. He helped us shoot the whole thing in a matter of three or four hours in the Peaks' basement. It was ridiculous, but a lot of fun.

Andy and I could have done it ourselves, and I'm sure we would have had our share of fun in the process as well, but there was always something about Wes that just took a good mood and augmented it more than you'd ever think possible.

And also, naming the movie Humatron was Wes's idea. I still have NO idea where that word came from.

To the family of Wes Peak, Please accept my most heartfelt condolences. I worked with Wes at Westmont Fire Department almost 10 years ago. He and I were scheduled on the same shift and worked together often. Wes was always sharp as a firefighter and especially as a paramedic. Sometmes I thought I was working with a doctor. He always knew his medical treatment protocols. He was very skilled and accurate with hands on treatment and patient assessments. He also had a genuine and sincere bedside manner. I could tell that Wes really cared about providing the best possible treatment for all of his patients. Unfortunately, I lost touch with Wes over the past several years, but it does not erase the memory I have of him. He was truly a nice, honest, and caring person. It wasn't just the expertise he exhibited through his profession. More important, it was his easy going and genuine personality that made him a really great guy. Melissa, words can not even begin to describe the sorrow I fell for your and your and Wes's entire family. The sudden loss of a loved one is shocking. I know you are numb right now, but speaking from experience things will heal with time. Please remember that if you need ANYTHING reach out to your extended fire department family. Wesley Peak, I will always remember the time me and my kids came to see you and my cousin Melissa Peak all the way from Missouri. You both took us to that great pizza place near where you live (I don't remember the name) and you treated me and my kids to an awesome lunch there. I hadn't seen Missy in years. I wasn't able to make it to your wedding so it was really a pleasure to finally meet you. I got to catch up with Missy and meet you for the first time. My first impression was you were a great guy, very funny, accepted me and my kids from the moment you met us. As we enjoyed lunch and the more we chatted, you asked me questions about me and my kids...you showed interest in us. I could tell you made my cousin very happy and you were just an awesome spirit of a guy. We all had a great time that day. Even visited with you both more back at your home. I'm very sad to know you left us so soon. It breaks my heart for my cousin. It breaks my heart I wont be able to hang with you again. Thank you for being such an awesome guy! Thanks for all the laughs! Thanks for accepting me and my kids even tho you just met us. Thanks for being the perfect husband to my cousin! Thanks for being the perfect father to your son, Jaxson! Thanks for being an awesome fire fighter! Thanks for being ... You! Even tho I only met you once, you made such an impact and an impression on me and my kids. We will miss you so very much!
