Robert V. "Bob" Applegate, age 88, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, served during the Korean War. Beloved husband for 62 years to Nadine, nee Tibstra. Loving father of Cynthia (David Robertson) Applegate, Susanne (John) Higgins, Mary (Steve) Applegate-Busse, Jim (Connie) Applegate and Dan (Lisa) Applegate. Cherished grandfather of Dana (Brett) Rowe, Sarah (Chris) Hall, Amy (Bijan) Mahlouji, Michelle Applegate, Jenna Applegate, Ben Applegate, and Grace Applegate. Dearest great-grandfather of Kaydence, Eliana, Hudson, and Levi.

Bob retired from Aon Corporation as a Commercial Insurance Marketer.

Memorial Visitation for Robert and his wife Nadine will be held at Palos Heights Christian Reformed Church, 7059 W. 127th St., Palos Heights, IL 60463 on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until time of their Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m.

On Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL a Committal Service will be held for both Robert and Nadine along with Military Honors for Robert.
