Condolences

Condolence From: Diane Giglio
Condolence: My sincere condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.
I am glad I had the opportunity to meet your dad several times and what I remember most about him was his smile. It seemed like he was always wearing it when I saw him. I hope your memories of him will help you when you are feeling sad.
Please be assured of a place in my prayers.

Condolence: Dear Rich and Family,
May the peace that only our Savior can give, be yours as you mourn the loss of Richard Sr.
Knowing that your he is truly home now, in the loving embrace of Jesus, should be a great source of comfort to you all.
Richard Sr. has heard the words we all hope to hear one day, "Well done my good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Master's house."
May Almighty God bless you all. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Condolence From: Tom and Karen Dykstra
Condolence: We won’t be able to attend Rich’s memorial service, but Karen and I would like to share a few thoughts and memories.

We fondly remember Rich as one of the generation of men at Park Lane Church who lived their beliefs in God in their everyday life. They were always there to provide support, love, and encouragement in Sunday school, Cadets, Young Peoples, and as we began to serve in church. These men were true servant leaders who cared so much for their own families and the church as a family.

Rich always had a smile and a kind word. I (Tom) especially have vivid memories of his encouragement during one of the Cadet campouts. I will never forget how he noticed how upset I was and took me aside to give me advise on how I could survive playing “kick the can” with all the older boys. It is not the advice I remember, but the Christ like love of seeing a need and stepping in.

I (Karen) remember once when Rich was visiting me as an elder after my surgery. Before Rich left, he asked if he would pray with me and our daughter, Ruth. Ruth said “Mommy close your eyes”. This was a memory Rich brought up many times in the years to come.

We are sure there will be many memories shared over the next few days. But we also know it is hard to lose a loved one.

We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.

Condolence From: Jerry Dykstra
Condolence: The world is a sadder place with Rich's passing. He was a mentor to me when I was an elder at Park Lane church. I remember the good times we had and the spiritual growth meeting as the Community Callers with Pastor Dan Brink. Rich and his brother Andy always watched out for us as if we were family, and in a way we were.
