The Rev. Walter  Ledogar
The Reverend Walter Ledogar was called to glory on September 20. Walter was born May 21, 1938, in Newark, NJ, the eldest child of the late Walter and late Helen Ledogar, née Stumpf. Walter was the beloved husband of the late Carol Ledogar, née Crane. Loving father of Mark (Julie) and Paul (Gwynn Witt). Dear brother to Jeanne Deacon (and the late William) and dear brother-in-law of Barbara (Bunny) Kovac (Rev. Gerald), Christina Blackney (Paul) and Harold Crane (Catherine). Devoted “Ye Ye” (grandfather) of Grace and Lane Mei Ledogar. Fond Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Walter graduated from Concordia College, Bronxville, NY and Concordia College, Fort Wayne, IN; commissioned as Chaplain in the US Navy Reserve School, Newport, RI; graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO; and called to serve as Pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, Orland Park, IL where he partnered in ministry with his wife, Carol, for over 50 years. Walter served as Chaplain of the Orland Park Police and Fire Protection District, Director of the Orland Park Civic Center Authority, Director of Metropolitan Family Services, Director and Samaritan of the Year of Lutheran Church Charities.

Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 29 at Christ Lutheran Church, 14700 S. 94th Ave., Orland Park, IL from 3 – 9 pm.‬‬‬‬ Homegoing Call to Glory Service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 10 am at Christ Lutheran Church followed by interment at Christ Lutheran Cemetery.
