Condolence: My deepest condolences to Diane and the rest of the family

Dave was my partner, my friend, my mentor, my protector and advisor and a true big brother to me. Time and distance can never break the bond I had with him. May he rest in peace and experience the joy he brought to everyone around him

Condolence: Dave was a good friend and loving person. His love for building and fixing things is exceeded only by his love for Diane. He was hard-working, and was the kind of person who never gave up. He loved to laugh, and nothing made him happier than when one of his jokes made someone blush! He didn't understand the meaning of the words, "It can't be done." Dave always found a way. Someone once asked me about our friendship, and my response was that he would have taken a bullet for me, and I, for him. He was a wonderful mentor to my boys, Tom and Steve, teaching them how to build and fix (as he loved to do), and to my daughter, Anna, who he treated like his own.
He would be waving off every tribute left for him - he never let anyone make a fuss over him (but he never turned down a good back scratch!). We loved him so very much, and he will be missed every day.

Condolence: My biggest wish is that we would have had more time. Dave was an amazing man who loved his wife, his family, his friends and his horses. He was smart, talented and crazy funny. He would definitely blush and wave me away if I said any of this in front of him. His stories were the best, his life experiences amazing and I am heartbroken that he won't be trying to force feed me cookies, stop traffic so we can pull out of his driveway with the truck and trailer and have us all in tears from laughter any longer...though I am certain some of our tears this week will be joined by laughter as we remember a man taken to soon but now pain free. I imagine Dave is already at work trying to make sure things are just right for those he loved when we join him one day. We will forever be grateful for the beautiful ride he had on his horse, Jesse, this June at the Palomino show in Iowa.
